Black History Month in the park
A special calendar of events and activities throughout October.
Carnival at Myatt's Fields ParkTuesday 12 October, 11am-2pm
(parade starts at 1pm). A fun-packed extravangza in the park – including a parade through the local area. Costume making, music, dancing, face-painting, delicious food, storytelling, arts and crafts, and much more. Wear traditional dress, your own costume or your best party outfit. Babies and children of all ages will enjoy the energy and fun at this event. Part of the I am Me festival by LEAP. |
Food Heroes specialSundays, 12 noon to 2pm, in the Park Depot courtyard.
Celebrating different cultures and traditional foods. 17 October Jamaican Run Down with fresh mackerel and Guinness punch 24 October Ackee and Saltfish, Basmati Rice with a green salad 31 October A traditional dish from Sierra Leone Food Heroes are local people that teach others how to cook their favourite meals. We pay them for their time and ingredients. |
Music on the bandstandSaturdays, 4-7pm, at the park bandstand.

Children's story timeSunday 17 & 31 October, 12 noon to 1pm, in the park roundhouse.
Join Nadz in the roundhouse for Caribbean children's stories. Enjoy a free hot chocolate while you and your children are whisked away into a world of storytelling. No need to book – just turn up. Nadz is one of the trustees for Myatt's Fields Park Project. |
