The Playground will be closed on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of May.
We will have repairs done to the safety surface on wet play area on our playground. Contractor is coming next week Wednesday (May 1st) and they will be working for three days on the playground. The old wet pour surface will be taken away and new one will be installed. Unfortunately we are going to lose map of the world and the dolphin, but the existing surface is not safe anymore.

CAMBERWELL FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL
Our café manager, Monique, will filmed demonstrating how to make patties at the Camberwell Food and Drink Festival at 10.30am this Saturday 20th April. We will also be selling Thai food and cakes as well as a range of freshly made iced drinks including strawberry lemonade from our Little Cat Cat ice cream bike.. Everyone is welcome at the day long festival on Camberwell Green, and which launches a week of activities. LITTLE CAT CAFÉ AND TAKE AWAY The menu this week will be stir fried chicken with basic and vegetable green curry with steamed fragrant rice. To order ahead please you’re your order (eg 1 meat, 1 veg) along with your name from Thursday onwards to Monique on 079584 519425. Portions each serve two people and cost £5 for meat curries and £3.50 for vegetable curries. The Little Cat Café will now open from 10.30am to 5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sundays throughout the summer. GOODBYE AND THANKS TO MADLYN Apologies: I gave the wrong day last week: Madlyn’s goodbye party will be held from 1pm to 4pm on Tuesday 23rd April at the Mulberry Centre, Myatt’s Fields Park. Madlyn will be retiring from running the One O’Clock Club next week. The party will include food for children and adults and is open to people with children under five years and people who have known Madlyn over the years. FOOD SESSIONS AT THE PARK FOOD HEROES Everyone is welcome to come along from 10.30am on Saturday (20th April) and learn how to make Colombian food. The sessions are open to everyone – come along and help cook from 10.30am, or just turn up and eat at noon if you want to. You don’t need to be an expert cook, we design the sessions so people can just roll up their sleeves and help with chopping, stirring and eating! We pay food heroes £40 to teach other people about the food they know and love. No experience is needed and you will be supported by our food manager Fiorella Fronzi during the session. FAMILY COOK AND EAT BREAKFAST CLUB The family cook and eat breakfast club this Friday (April 12th) will meet from 9am in the Mulberry Centre. The family cook and eat sessions allow children and adults to cook and eat together. Everyone welcome. RETIRED PEOPLE'S LUNCH CLUB Retired people are welcome to come and eat lunch made with vegetables and fruit from the greenhouse at the depot from noon each Friday. These sessions are informal and friendly and everyone is welcome. The food sessions are funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Local Food scheme. TELL LAMBETH HOW TO IMPROVE OUR STREETS Lambeth Council has funding from Transport for London to improve streets in Vassall and Coldharbour and is inviting residents to suggest ways that this can be done. The Neighbourhood Enhancement Programme (NEP) is a commitment to providing and maintaining roads, pavements and open spaces that are safe, clean and attractive in Vassall, Oval, Stockwell, part of Herne Hill, Coldharbour, Ferndale, Larkhall and Clapham Town. Those areas were chosen because they have a high number of road safety accidents and because of links with existing projects. The funding must be spent by spring 2014, and so they are urgently seeking residents view now (end of consultation in May 2013) Improvements could include:

In 2013, thanks to a grant from City Bridge Trust, we are able to expand the help we can offer to local food growing projects by employing a community gardener to offer training and support on and off site from Myatt's. SUNDAY GREENHOUSE OPEN DAY SUNDAY 7TH APRIL Everyone welcome to come along and help us plant vegetables on Sunday from 11am to 2pm. This is a great way of finding out what we do in the greenhouse project (growing food and vegetables for community use) in a relaxed environment. There will be a hot Indian meal for everyone who takes part from 1pm.
