Summer bandstand music
We've got a great line up of music on the bandstand alongside the Sunday market in July. It includes: Shamah African drumming 8th * Peruvian band Kausary alongside singers from Longfield Hall 15th * Vinyl Memories of Windrush Generation and their children with Michelle Killington 22nd * Lambeth Wind Orchestra 29th
New this week will be organic pakoras for only £4, Greek pastries from local entrepreneur Despina plus beautiful blooms from Peckham. Market organisers will be running a new veg stall and gathering people's views about the market as a whole. To give your views click here; email back to here
Join our Events Task Force!
The fair was a huge success thanks to our fantastic team of volunteers. We're planning towards our Harvest Festival event on 23rd September and would love people to join our new events task force. You will choose ways you'd like to be involved and help plan the event. Contact Tori if you'd like to join.
Children's gardening sessions 4-5pm Thursdays
The strawberries are big and ripe at our children's allotment on Myatt's Fields North (behind Akerman Health Centre, Akerman Road). Join our LEAP family engagement team for weekly gardening fun including making a mosaics, planting, watering and eating!
Swift Night at the Hive
Swifts are under threat - learn how to protect them at an event hosted by Bee Urban at their Hive in Kennington Park on Friday 22nd June. From 6.30pm there will be a film and information table with pizza and drinks then it's off for a Swift Walk at 7pm. For more information on Swift Awareness Week click here
Exhibition at Type Archive
29 June to 10 July The Type Archive (100 Hackford Road) is hosting an exhibition of lettering prints by designer Gunnlauger Briem. Everyone welcome to visit the Archive which is home to the art of printed words. Mondays and Fridays 10-5; Saturdays 11-5, Sundays 11-4.
Re-open Camberwell Station
Campaigners took their bid to re-open Camberwell station to Parliament yesterday (20th June). A petition containing thousands of signatures was handed to MPs Harriet Harman and Helen Hayes. Campaigners also put their case to the Minister for Rail.
