TOMATO BOTTLING AND JUICING WORKSHOP

18/8/2011

We will be bottling tomatoes from the greenhouse and juicing apples, pears and plums harvested around the park during a session in the depot kitchen from 2pm on 24th August 2011.

Dozens of tomatoes are ripening at the greenhouse and we will be learning techniques for preserving them so they can be used during the winter months.

The London Orchard Project, which helped us gather fruit from gardens around the park last Saturday, will come along to juice and bottle fruit during the session too.

Everyone and all ages are welcome to take part, learn new skills and enjoy freshly squeezed juice.

Play Out Lambeth, a borough wide play ranger service in parks and housing estates, brings laughter and joy to Myatt’s Fields Park.

Play Out is a Woodcraft Folk project that aims to encourage children and young people to enjoy the benefits of playing out in a safe environment, and to make our local green spaces more accessible to the community through co-operative play, arts and crafts and creative fun activities.

Look out for the red van and red t-shirts – and there you will find the team with their parachute, games, arts and crafts!

During this summer holidays Play Out will visit Myatt’s Fields Park on 9th, 16th and 23rd August. For more information please visit http://www.playout.org.uk/
