Father Nature, in partnership with Myatt's Fields Park Project, has raised 64% of the funding needed to run a sleepover in Myatt's this summer.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan gave the campaign a big boost recently when he pledged £7500 from the Mayor's Fund.
The South West London Army Cadet Force have also promised to lend 47 tents and 120 sleeping bags and mats equivalent to £1500 donation.
The sleepover is a one night free camping mini-festival for 100 families in the Park this summer. Full of camping fun, games and workshops with dinner and breakfast thrown in, it's always a hit - see how much fun it is from previous films here. For some, this is their only holiday of the year and possibly their first night out in nature under the stars.
Pledge your wedge
With no public funding this year, it will be a challenge to pull off so we need your help. Father Nature have launched a crowd funding campaign, just visit The Big Park Sleepover 2016 page to pledge your support.
If we don't get all the money pledged by August 1st, then we'll sadly have to cancel the whole event. So even a pledge of £10 will help us on our way to make this night a firm date in the summer 2016 diary.
If you can't pledge, you can still help us by telling your friends, family, neighbours, local school, or posting this link on Facebook or Twitter.
To say thank you
We have a target of £1000 to raise by next week, this will help Father Nature access larger national grants to hit the total. Everyone who pledges will go into a hat for:
o 5 lucky people are each guaranteed a place at the sleepover inc. use of a free family tent for 4.
o 10 people get the chance to join the Sleepover for (free!) supper on the night.
o 20 people will also be pulled from a hat for a ride in the Father Nature milk float.
So when is the Big Sleepover happening: Sunday 28th August to Monday 29th August
How do I get to go to the Big Sleepover?
Once we're sure of the pledge target Father Nature will be letting Lambeth residents know as soon as possible via local media. Half the tickets are reserved for low income families and we'll be inviting all Lambeth families to apply for a place at the Sleepover. It will be first come, first served - so keep your eyes peeled.
Thank you for your support
