Community Wildlife Pond Project

We're raising £5,000 to create a year-round wildlife pond that supports biodiversity, manages floodwater and brings together community!

The Vision

Our existing ephemeral pond has become increasingly unreliable. With springs and summers becoming drier, and damage to its liner, it now dries out much earlier in the year than it once did. This limits the wildlife it can support and means we are losing an important habitat just when many species need water most.

Our project will transform an approximately 50m² area beside the existing pond to one that can provide year-round water for wildlife, whilst capturing and storing excess water during periods of seasonal flooding. In this way, the project will not only create better wetland habitat, but also demonstrate how gardens can work with water rather than simply trying to drain it away.

We also want to enhance the immediate area around the pond, making it an inviting space to all who visits, every month of the year.

Leave a Legacy

Myatt’s Fields Park has been at the heart of the local community for generations — a place to breathe, play, reflect, and come together. By leaving a gift to the park in your will, you can help protect and enhance this much-loved green space for future generations.

A legacy gift, large or small, can make a lasting difference. It can help fund conservation, improvements to facilities, community events, biodiversity projects, and the long-term care of the park.

Leaving a legacy is entirely optional and deeply personal — but for those who choose to do so, it is a powerful way to support the park beyond your lifetime.

Bench Donation Scheme

Benches are dedicated for various reasons—whether to celebrate special occasions, give as meaningful gifts, or commemorate the loss of loved ones, including friends, family, or pets.

Can I dedicate a bench in Myatt's Fields Park?
Yes! Myatt’s Fields Park Project now manages bench dedications, making it easier for locals.

Who manages the bench dedication scheme?
The scheme is run by Myatt’s Fields Park Project in partnership with Lambeth Parks Department.

How long does the dedication last?
Dedications last for the natural life of the bench (up to 30 years). If a bench needs replacing, we’ll contact you about dedicating a new one. If damaged within the first 10 years, we will repair or replace it. After that, we can't guarantee restoration.

If interested, send an email to enquiries@myattsfieldspark.info.

SUPPORT

Make a Donation

Myatt’s Fields Park is one of Camberwell’s true gems, and thanks to a dedicated group of regular visitors back in 2000, it has blossomed into the beautiful space we enjoy today. As a park managed by a charity, the team faces challenges in maintaining and nurturing this vital green space for both the local community and wildlife.

To help the park continue to grow and benefit everyone with its fresh air, plants, and food, we kindly ask for your support—though there’s no obligation. Whether it’s volunteering your time, making a donation, or offering your expertise in environmental and community development, every contribution makes a meaningful difference. Feel free to give what you can!
