Park Management

Volunteer outside with your team – and help us support a green gem

Myatt’s Fields Park Project is a local charity. We work with Lambeth Council in managing Myatt’s Fields Park.

The Charity was founded in 2002 and is adding value to the work done by the Council – in management, usage and development of the Park.

Our charitable activities

Managing park hires including the football pitch, Mulberry Outdoor Pre-school, nature area, tennis courts, compound and the Little Cat Café.

Providing a range of activities and events including volunteering, food growing, horticultural volunteering, community dining and the weekly market.

Contributing to local regeneration initiatives for Vassall, Coldharbour and Camberwell Green – particularly around training and food growing - with local partners.

We govern the organisation through a main board. It has overall responsibility for the Charity and 3 subgroups:

  • Community engagement (to include events, stakeholder and user engagement and comms)
  • Fundraising and Projects
  • Finance

For the past 15 months we have been working with external support to make the Charity more:

  • Inclusive in our governance  and in who uses the Park
  • Financially sustainable
  • Effective in our management and governance

We are a relatively small, but ambitious charity with limited funding and resources. We are looking to recruit trustees and/or subgroup members who can offer practical and professional volunteer support as well as effective governance.
