What We Do

Building Community, One Project at a Time

Myatt's Fields Park Project is the charity dedicated to keeping this green space thriving. But our work goes far beyond mowing the grass. From supporting local families and hosting cultural festivals to driving sustainability and horticultural excellence, we are building a healthier neighbourhood for everyone.

Don’t just take our word for it—explore our Project Gallery below to see the real-world impact of our work in action.

Myatt's Fields Dog Show

The Myatt’s Fields Dog Show is a friendly, community led and community focused event, bringing together local dog owners and animal lovers for an afternoon of fun competitions, light-hearted prize categories, and socialising. Typically featuring categories such as best trick, waggiest tail, or best rescue, the show has a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere and celebrates the park’s strong community spirit while giving local pups a chance to shine.

Andean Festival

This annual Festival transforms the Park into a hub of Latin American culture. Coinciding with the season of Inti Raymi (The Festival of the Sun), the event was a joyous celebration of the rich heritage of the Andes.

The goal is to create a space for cultural exchange and community connection, and the turnout is alaways spectacular. The Victorian Bandstand became the focal point for a series of breathtaking performances that captivates visitors of all ages.

This event highlighted the park's role as a diverse cultural venue, successfully bringing different parts of our community together to share in music, dance, and food.

Role of Myatt's Fields Park Project

Myatt's Fields Park Project is a charity led by local people that supports the park. We have a management agreement with Lambeth Council that means from 2023 - 2030 we provide:

  • horticultural maintenance including flower beds, mowing and hedge maintenance. Lambeth is responsible for maintenance of trees and hedges above 6ft
  • where we can afford it, we will contribute to reactive maintenance (eg mending equipment). Otherwise Lambeth is responsible for capital maintenance of the park.
  • income generation for the park
  • provide volunteering, training and employability opportunities for local people
  • provide a point of contact for local people and engagement activities such as events
  • host a range of local organisations including Lambeth Tigers football club, Mulberry Pre-school, Little Cat Cafe

Lambeth remains the owner of the park and is responsible for setting and the enforcement of bye-laws.

Sustainable in every way

We are working to become more financially sustainable, better meet the needs of our local communities and make our governance more effective and inclusive. Get involved or find out more: enquiries@myattsfieldspark.info
