Myatt's Fields Park Project is the charity dedicated to keeping this green space thriving. But our work goes far beyond mowing the grass. From supporting local families and hosting cultural festivals to driving sustainability and horticultural excellence, we are building a healthier neighbourhood for everyone.
Don’t just take our word for it—explore our Project Gallery below to see the real-world impact of our work in action.
Cook Like a Caribbean was a series of community workshops celebrating Caribbean culture, food and its origins. Local Brixton residents with links to the Caribbean community shared their favourite and symbolic recipes, and cooked together.

This community-led initiative celebrates local culinary heritage and promotes food literacy. Launched in 2011 as part of the park's transformation into an "edible landscape," the project empowers residents to share their expertise by teaching others how to cook the traditional meals they love. These sessions have been incredibly diverse, reflecting the rich multicultural fabric of Camberwell and Brixton, with workshops ranging from Caribbean heritage cooking to global plant-based cuisines feeding volunteers, elders and children.

Myatt's Fields Park Project is a charity led by local people that supports the park. We have a management agreement with Lambeth Council that means from 2023 - 2030 we provide:
Lambeth remains the owner of the park and is responsible for setting and the enforcement of bye-laws.
We are working to become more financially sustainable, better meet the needs of our local communities and make our governance more effective and inclusive. Get involved or find out more: enquiries@myattsfieldspark.info
