Despite of the rain, the first Myatt's Fields Park Sleepover in June was great fun and many people expressed interest in participating again. We also felt there was space for more people (150) and therefore, we have decided to reopen the application process. If you would like your family to camp in the park on the weekend 25/26 August, then please fill in
the application form before Monday, 30th July (am). If your application is successful, you should hear from us by Tuesday, 31st July.
The sleepover will include a fire workshop, unamplified music in the early evening, story telling before bedtime and a free cooked breakfast in the morning. We'll have a few new activities this year with the chance to try some cooking or gardening as well as information about other training on offer in the park and around. Bedtime is 10pm and we will ask all participants to strictly respect the curfew.
The sleepover is organised with the Territorial Army, who will provide stewards and overnight patrols.
The park will be closed for the events from 4pm on Saturday 25th August and the only people allowed on site will be the campers.
As this is a family event no singe adults (over 16 years) will be eligible, and all under 16s must be accompanied. Half the places have been reserved for people who are unwaged or on low incomes and they will be provided with camping equipment for this event. Lambeth and local Southwark residents welcome.
To apply, either fill in a form on a newsletter printed and and available at The Green Man, the Minet Library and the job centre. etc. or fill in this on-line form on the "Bandstand and Events" page of our website. The deadline for applying for a place on both sleepovers is Monday, 30th July(am).
We will allocate places for each sleepover on a first come, first served basis. If you are successful in securing a place, you will receive a confirmation letter with information about the event by Tuesday, 31st July.
The sleepover is funded by the Lambeth Community Fund.
