BARBEQUE AT THE BANDSTAND SATURDAY 19TH MAY
We’ll be holding our first barbeque of the year at the café from 1pm on Saturday, with chicken and rice and peas.
We would very much appreciate any volunteer help you can give us on Saturday, or any cakes baked for the café.
The café will be open as usual from 10.30am to 5.30pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday throughout the summer.
FOOD SESSIONS AT THE PARK
FOOD HEROES
Come along and learn how to make Indian biriyani (will contain meat) during our Food Heroes session from 10.30am to 1pm in the park depot meeting room on Saturday 19th May.
This programme gives local people the chance to teach other people about the food they know and love. We pay local people £40 per session for leading the session and give an allowance for food. If you are interested in becoming a food hero please contact Rebecca Maddox on[email protected].
FAMILY COOK AND EAT BREAKFAST CLUB
We will be making oat and raison cookies at the family cook and eat breakfast club this Friday 11th May, which takes place in the Mulberry Centre from 9am to 10.30am.
Parents and children cook and eat together during these sessions, which are free.
RETIRED PEOPLE'S LUNCH CLUB
Retired people are welcome to come and eat lunch made with vegetables and fruit from the greenhouse at the depot from noon each Friday.
The family cook and eat, food heroes and retired people’s lunch club are all funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Local Food scheme and are free to all participants
