FOOD SESSIONS AT THE PARK
FOOD HEROES
Come along and learn how to make homemade chocolates during our Food Heroes session from 10.30am to 1pm in the park depot meeting room on Saturday 12th May.
This programme gives local people the chance to teach other people about the food they know and love. We pay local people £40 per session for leading the session and give an allowance for food. If you are interested in becoming a food hero please contact Rebecca Maddox on her email.
FAMILY COOK AND EAT BREAKFAST CLUB
We will be making fruit and yoghurt dippers at the family cook and eat breakfast club this Friday 11th May, which takes place in the Mulberry Centre from 9am to 10.30am.
Parents and children cook and eat together during these sessions, which are free.
RETIRED PEOPLE'S LUNCH CLUB
Retired people are welcome to come and eat lunch made with vegetables and fruit from the greenhouse at the depot from noon each Friday.
The family cook and eat, food heroes and retired people’s lunch club are all funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Local Food scheme and are free to all participants.
Brixton People's Kitchen

They say:
“We think that sharing food with strangers is one of the nicest ways to spread happiness. And if the food is free, and has been saved from going to waste, it makes it even tastier!
Inspired and supported by the wonderful People's Kitchen http://thepeopleskitchen.org/ (Passing Clouds, Dalston), Brixton People's Kitchen collects food surplus from local shops and markets, invites local people to cook together, and welcomes everyone to enjoy a delicious meal with each other. Come down to Myatts Fields Park, sample
some tasty food, and add your ideas to the joyful stew we are cooking!
