Following last year's success, Myatt's Fields Park will be holding two sleepovers this summer: 23/24 June and 25/26 August, giving local families an opportunity to camp in the park.
The sleepover will include a fire workshop, unamplified music in the early evening, story telling before bedtime and a free cooked breakfast in the morning. We'll have a few new activities this year with the chance to try some cooking or gardening as well as information about other training on offer in the park and around. Bedtime is 10pm and we will ask all participants to strictly respect the curfew.
The sleepover is organised with the Territorial Army, who will provide stewards and overnight patrols.
The park will be closed for the events from 4pm on Saturday 23rd June and Saturday 25th August and the only people allowed on site will be the campers.
As this is a family event no singe adults (over 16 years) will be eligible, and all under 16s must be accompanied. Half the places have been reserved for people who are unwaged or on low incomes and they will be provided with camping equipment for this event. Lambeth and local Southwark residents welcome.
To apply, either fill in a form on a newsletter printed and distributed to 5000 local homes (and available in the Minet Library) or fill in the form on the "Bandstand and Events" page of our website. The deadline for applying for a place on both sleepovers is Sunday 10th June
We will allocate 100 places for each sleepover on a first come, first served basis. If you are successful in securing a place, you will receive a confirmation letter with information about the event by Friday 15th June.
The sleepover is funded by the Lambeth Community Fund.
