Big Lunch - 2nd June 1pm to 5pm
Everyone is welcome to enjoy free music on the bandstand and share food with neighbours during our Big Lunch from 1pm to 5pm this Sunday (2nd June).
Sarabanda will be playing Cuban music from 1pm to 3pm including hot Cuban Salsa, Son, Timba, Cha cha cha and Latin jazz. We will then have a performance from 3pm to 5pm by King Groovy and the Hornstars playing jazz, swing, Latin and funky groove from an 18 piece big band.
We will set up tables around the bandstand for people to share food, and we will be giving away samples of Caribbean, Indian, Columbian and Thai food prepared by our food heroes as a celebration of our two year long food project.
The event is part of the Chelsea Fringe, a festival of flowers, gardens and gardening across London.
We would very much appreciate help from volunteers during the event, particularly supporting in the café or cake stall. Please contact Victoria Sherwin on 0207 926 0394 or by email if you can help.
Myatt’s Fields Park summer fair and family fun day
Saturday 22nd June 2013
Everyone is invited to take part in Myatt’s Fields Park summer fair and family fun day which will be held on 22nd June 2013.
This year we are very pleased to announce that the event will be organised in partnership with local charity the Cherry Tree Trust. This means the event will be bigger and better than ever – it will start at the new earlier time of 11am and continue through to 6pm.
We’ll have a full day of entertainment including rock steady music and live bands on the bandstand, a talent contest and ballet performance in the picnic area, a football tournament, our usual family fairground and a plant sale. As part of Camberwell Arts Week, we’ll also have an art fair this year, where artists can pay to hang work for sale on railings outside the park.
See the previous post for information about stalls etc
