The Big Lunch 2nd June 1pm to 5pm
Everyone is welcome to enjoy free music on the bandstand and share food with neighbours during our Big Lunch from 1pm to 5pm on 2nd June.

WORLD FOOD PROJECT
We have funding to run a new World Food project from June 2013. This will include working with local people to document the food they eat and the stories behind these foods. We will learn about the history of foods from the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and Europe and will explore how they have influenced each other. We’ll create a world map showing the stories behind the food we eat today and run lots of workshops (maybe in the same way as food heroes) to explore all of this.
This project could also include workshops targeted to a range of people eg young parents, children and teenagers. The food history project will be run by a board of local people, who will help us design the workshops and activities.
Join us for a meeting where we’ll be starting to plan the project from 7pm on Wednesday 12thJune 2013 in the depot meeting room.
RETIRED PEOPLE'S LUNCH CLUB
Retired people are welcome to come and eat lunch made with vegetables and fruit from the greenhouse at the depot from noon this Friday. These sessions are informal and friendly and everyone is welcome. We ask for a £2 contribution towards the cost of the food.
The food activities are funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Local Food scheme.
