MYATT'S FIELDS PARK COMMUNITY GARDENER
Myatt's Fields Park 2 years fixed term until 2015, part time 21 hours per week £30,000 perannum pro rata
We are looking for a community gardener who can help develop our park greenhouse area into a centre of excellence for food growing, as well as offering support to ten local growing projects each year.
Lambeth has seen an incredible growth in the number of community food growing projects over the past two years, with 140 new food growing projects at the last count.
Myatt's Fields Park Project has played its part in this. We are a charity run by local people which has worked with local volunteers to grow fruit and vegetables in the park greenhouse. We have supported local groups who start their plants off in our greenhouse and share their expertise with us.
We recognise that we've got a prime site for food growing with a large greenhouse, cold frames, a cucumber house and outdoor growing areas. We have a composting area in the park and work in partnership with recycling and re-use organisations.
In 2013, thanks to a grant from City Bridge Trust, we are able to expand the help we can give to offer food growing projects by employing a community gardener to offer training and support on and off site from Myatt's.
You will be part of a partnership spanning London Borough of Lambeth and the voluntary sector, breathing new life into a much loved local park.
How to apply: send a CV and covering letter to Victoria Sherwin, development/education officer, by email , or by post to: The Old Depot, Myatt's Fields Park, Cormont Road, London, SE5 9RA by 5pm on 11th April.
